Expertise

My research areas include sustainable communities, green design, and life cycle assessment. Currently, I am focused on evaluating the impacts of environmentally oriented practices and policies, primarily using life cycle assessment (LCA). Using LCA, I have modelled the impacts of salmon aquaculture, plastics reduction programs, institutional food purchases, and ecovillage residents. I have also investigated the how communities’ planning techniques, building design, social institutions, and values affect their environmental impact.
