Expertise

I am interested in how data science, machine learning, and sensor technologies can be used to better understand and conserve wildlife. I currently have research projects on the social interactions of gopher tortoises. I also collaborate with artists and musicians to incorporate computing technologies into artwork and performances.

I am an enthusiastic maker of physical things, especially things that incorporate small computers. I try to incorporate "making" into as many courses as I can, such as NA125 Engineering/STEM, where we make pinball machines, and my Winter Term course Listening to the Heavens, where we make radio telescopes.
